• Finished hat circumference: 35.5 [40.5 :45.5: 50.5: 56]cm (14 [16: 18: 20: 22]in)

Yarn requirement:
Rowan Felted Tweed DK

• (MC): 1 [1: 1: 2] x 50 g
• (CC): 1 [1: 1: 1] x 50 g (only a few grams needed)

Rowan Felted Tweed is, as its name suggests, a tweedy yarn with a felted look and feel. It blocks nicely, producing a soft and warm fabric.

If planning on substituting yarn, choose a wool or wool blend which blocks well. This will ensure that the bottom of the cloche hat doesn’t roll after blocking, and that the pleats keep their shape.

Gauge:
24 sts and 36 rows / 10cm (4 in) measured over stocking stitch in the round after blocking.

Needles and Notions:

• 3.25 mm (US 3) – 40 cm circular needles to work body of hat, and DPNs or 2 circ. needles to work crown shaping. Or size required to achieve gauge.
• 2 Cable needles (or DPNs)
• Darning needle, stitch markers
• Safety pins and a kitchen bowl (or something similar) with a circumference of approx. 35.5 [ 40.5: 45.5: 50.5: 56]cm (14 [16: 18: 20: 24]in) for blocking

Quelques plis sur le côté gauche du chapeau donnent du volume au bord de la cloche, encadrant le visage élégamment. Quelques fleurs bicolores de différentes tailles sont placées à la naissance des plis, et apportent à Apolline une touche romantique et un côté rétro.

Rowan Felted Tweed est, comme son nom l’indique, un fil tweed présentant un aspect feutré. Il se comporte très bien à la mise en forme et au blocage, produisant un tissu homogène et chaud.

Dans l’hypothèse d’une substitution de fil, choisir un fil de laine, ou composé en grande partie de laine, qui se comporte bien au blocage. Ceci est nécessaire pour que les plis et le bord du chapeau maintiennent leur forme.

Echantillon:
24 mailles et 36 rangs / 10cm en jersey tricoté en rond, après blocage.

Aiguilles et Accessoires:

• Aiguilles 3.25 mm, ou taille nécessaire pour obtenir l’échantillon – aiguilles circulaires de 40 cm pour le corps du chapeau, aiguilles à double pointe ou 2 aiguilles circulaires pour les diminutions.

• 2 Aiguilles à torsades (ou aiguilles double pointe)

• Aiguille à repriser pour les finitions (aiguille à laine)

• Anneaux marqueurs

• Epingles à nourrice, et un saladier (ou un objet similaire) d’une circonférence d’environ 35,5 [ 40,5 ; 45,5 ; 50,5 ; 56] cm pour mettre en forme.
