Apollonie is the fourth of eight patterns in the Courtesans shawl collection.

Apollonie Sabatier was known for her role as a muse to a number of artists. These included the sculptor Auguste Clésinger, who used Apollonie as the model for his work, “Woman, bitten by a snake” (1847). This shawl uses a stylised scale motif in view of this work.

Apollonie is a crescent shawl with increasing lace pattern, worked top-down.
