This is a knitting pattern I originally designed in 2010 and I’ve recently been asked if the pattern could be sold to raise funds for charity. We are now using the Apple knitting pattern as part of a Charity ‘Knitted Garden’ project and hope to knit an Apple Tree for display at Castaway Yarns, Haxby, near York by October! All proceeds of the sale of this pattern will be donated to Children in Distress. Reg Charity.
Each Apple takes very little yarn. I knitted the samples in Stylecraft Pearl. D.K. but they can be knit in any D.K. yarn. Personally I like the pearlised sheen the yarn produces.
You will need some polyester toy filling for the interior of the Apple. Fun to knit in funky colours.A perfect stash busting project. Knit in the round on 4 x 4mm knitting needles, each apple takes very little time to complete.
