Equal parts intricate and nostalgic, the Après-Ski Socks aim to capture the beauty and contradiction of a cold winter’s morning, drawing inspiration from such varied sources as window-frost and Currier & Ives dishware.

The Après-Ski Socks are knit cuff-down and in the round, with a peasant heel (sometimes called an afterthought heel) added at the end. The colorwork pattern is worked throughout the leg and foot, and the heel and toe are each closed using Kitchener Stitch.

This pattern was written with beginners in mind, and includes modifications for different types of needles as well as step-by-step photographs demonstrating certain techniques. If you are looking to knit your first pair of colorwork socks, this is a great option!
