The Apres Surf Cardigan is a top-down, wide neck, cable rib cardigan with 2x2 rib detailing at the hems and button band. This cardigan is designed to fit with approximately 20% positive ease and is the perfect weight to throw on for an evening at the beach. This pattern includes 9 sizes for bust sizes 28” - 60” which are denoted as (1, 2, 3) {4, 5, 6} (7, 8, 9). This pattern is best suited for intermediate-level knitters and above.

This cardigan is knitted from the top down. Casting on at the shoulders and shaping with German short rows, the rest of the back is worked flat through the yoke, the stitches are placed on hold. Stitches for either shoulder are picked up and worked flat, once complete, the body is joined under the arms and worked in one piece from the top down. Sleeves are then picked up and knit in the round with decreases for shaping. The body is finished by picking up stitches for the button bands and the collar. The beginner-friendly cables make it a great project to expand your knitting skillset.
