Apricity means “the warmth of the sun in winter.”

These socks were designed in March as a late-season blizzard threatened to drop eighteen to twenty-four inches of snow. With the impending storm, all I could think of was how much I wanted the warmth of the sun on my face but instead I was cuddled up in front of the fireplace with a cup of tea and my knitting.

With three sizes, a bit of ribbing along the sides, and cables that don’t pull in much, these socks will fit a wide range of legs and feet. The pattern has a heel flap and gusset construction where the heel flows from the leg pattern. The twisted-stitch cables will really pop in a solid or semi-solid yarn with a nice twist.

Yardage Note:
For the large size and 2 pattern repeats on the leg, you will want to have 400-450 yards if your foot is a US size 8 (9.5”) or longer. You can always repeat the 4 cuff rows 3 times instead of 4 if you think you may run short on yardage.
