April Dress
£2 off until the end of the summer break (3rd September) of all my dress patterns with code summerblues
Since i seem to be having something of a nightmare of a time finding dresses to fit my youngest daughter, and the Lorelei dress was so successful she had me make another with the this fabric she found in my stash draw.
This pattern is also very straight forward and can be easily completed by a relative beginner to crochet. Though if you are an absolute beginner i recommend starting with my Lorelei Dress.
The pattern is designed so that you can make it in any size, in any yarn and with any appropriate hook.
The dress in the picture is approximately an age 2 and uses less than 50g of cotton DK. I used half a meter of 44” fabric but it was tight and i had to roll my hems. However Lorelei is 3 and a half so probably a little taller than a dress this size is supposed to be. It is ankle length.I would recommend using a quilting or dress weight fabric (most are one or the other) but not heavier cotton ducks.
I also needed about 1.5 meters of ribbon (this is nylon organza but any ribbon that compliments your fabric) and 2 buttons. I used 1” buttons but the pattern tells you how to make the pattern fit what you want to use to get the desired look you want.
The sewing part is very simple. The skirt in the picture is entirely hand sewn (yes i still cant get to my sewing machine), and involves only straight lines (mine aren’t all that straight, it is quite forgiving). There is no complicated cutting of fabric.
The pattern has written instructions with lots of photo’s to help you along the way.
