Teal sounded too boring. Sapphire was a name already taken; Aquamarine wasn’t close enough to the color. Introducing Aquafire- a name that cleverly mixes the two blues together to create a gorgeous teal and a fun-to-say word.
Aquafire is a fun, easy cowl that can be converted into a mini-shawlette if need be. With only 26 rows, it’s a really quick knit.

Stitches used:
K – Knit
P – Purl
YO – Yarn Over
SSSK – Slip Slip Slip Knit (Like a SSK (slip slip knit) except you slip three to your right needle before knitting instead of two.)

Enjoy!

Errata (Sort of, more like a warning based on experience)
The pattern has been up a year now, and multiple knitters have had problems with getting the cowl to fit over their heads. I just want to stress that this pattern must be knit loosely if it’s going to work! The bind off must be knit as loosely as possible. By then you’re working with just 42 stitches!
I would definitely recommend checking your gauge as you go along. If it looks like it’s going to be too tight, rip out out and try it on a larger set of needles. I’m sorry for any inconvenience caused by the cowl being too tight.
Best wishes to all you knitters out there, and thanks for checking out my pattern!
