Pattern notes:
This cabled sweater is uniquely designed to be knit straight from one cuff to the other, leaving an opening for the neck in the middle center. The sleeves are then seamed to the correct length and then the body is knit by picking up stitches from the bottom edge of the finished Shoulder and Sleeve portion. You could decide to just knit this portion of the pattern and use it as a shrug. The body is knit in the round from the chest down to the waist. An optional detail is made by using a crochet hook to slip stitch the main blue color around the neck opening, as well as using the contrasting white color to bind off the stitches around the bottom hem.
Exquisite attention to detail is taken in the working of the cables on the sleeves, such that the increases and decreases are expertly hidden within the pattern. Because of the way the cables are lain out, the seam on the sleeve disappears and the effect is a graceful line of unbroken cables from one arm, over the shoulders, to the other arm.
An Abbreviation Key explaining how to do each cable is included with video tutorials for each cable as well.
Charts for the cables are also provided at the end of the pattern along with a legend for the symbols on the chart and a schematic with measurements.
