The Aran Love Bag features a charming cabled heart on both sides, combining elements of classic Aran, and the cottagecore style. This easy-to-knit design comes in two sizes (smallest size is paperback book sized; large bag is A4 sized). The ‘handles’ are simply worked during the pattern, which means little finishing is required – sew up the sides and you’re ready to go! The bag is a wonderful way to show a little love, whether as an accessory for yourself, or to gift someone close to your heart!

The pattern is knit flat, from the base towards the handles. Any Aran or worsted yarn should be suitable for this pattern. Either straight or circular needles are suitable, with 5mm/US8 being recommended, but there is some leeway given that Aran yarns can vary a little in thickness. I would suggest being guided by the needle size recommended for the Aran yarn you are using. You can use whichever length needle feels most comfortable to you. A cable needle is helpful for working the cables, and a knitter’s sewing needle (or tapestry needle) is required to seam the two pieces together.

Around 100g or 180m of Aran or worsted weight yarn is required for the small bag, with 150g or 200m required for the large size.

Sizing:
The bag comes in two different sizes: Small, and Large.
Small: 23cm x 17cm (9” x 6.5”)
Large: 33cm x 25cm (13” x 10”)

The pattern would suit an intermediate knitter, and both charted and written instructions are included.
