Aran Sampler Blanket, Square 7
Seventh in a series of 12 squares to make an Aran sampler blanket/throw, this square is a simple cable design with both a chart and written instructions. The pattern assumes basic knowledge of cables, but because there is cabling on the wrong side, this is likely not suitable for a beginner in the technique.
If making only one square, use 1 ball of the suggested yarn, or any other worsted weight yarn. 3 balls will make 4 squares, so if making the entire 12 square blanket, you will need 9 balls of yarn.
Gauge for these squares is approximate, as it is not a fitted garment. Finished measurement is 13” x 13” for all squares, after suitable blocking. Wet block for natural fibre, gently steam block for acrylic and acrylic blends. A wool/acrylic or nylon blend is recommended for ease of cleaning and durability.
