Aran Waves
Undulating waves of dropped stitches in luscious hand painted Aran weight yarn.
Aran Waves is also available as part of the knit/lab Waves volume 2 eBook.
The sample was knit on 5mm/US8 needles with 1.5 skeins/150g/250m/275yds of Hedgehog Fibres Merino Aran, in the “pod” colorway.
Dimensions of sample: three repeats of chart, approximately 25in/64cm wide by 30in/76cm in length.
Allow 3-4 skeins for a full project. Three skeins/500m/550yds will give a length of approximately 60in/152cm.
The shape of the finished piece is almost a rectangle - the garter stitch short ends are at a slight angle.
The chart is quite big due to the asymmetric repeat of the wave motif, but the lace stitches are very easy.
There’s a repeat box if you want to cast on extra stitches to work with finer yarn and/or smaller needles.
The pdf includes both written and charted versions of the pattern.
