This poncho is worked from the top-down, with no sewing, and features a 3” deep keyhole neck opening at the front. You will begin by knitting the neck flat, back and forth across your circular needle, and then after 3”, you will join and begin knitting in the round. The pattern is given for several specific lace stitches, but literally any lace stitches can be substituted. Look for lace stitches that require every other row to be plain purl, as these are the easiest to knit in the round.

Note on needle sizes: Start with 3.75mm (US 5) circular needle, at each new ball of yarn, change needle to one size larger - 4mm (US 6), then 4.5mm (US 7), then 5.0mm (US 8), then 5.5mm (US 9), then 6.0mm (US 10).

Gauge is not important in this pattern.
