This long, crescent-shaped shawlette was designed in honour of Inés V. and was inspired by the lush greenness of Portland, Oregon. The shawlette is knit with a rolled edge, a section of garter stitch that gradually increases (and then decreases) in width to form the crescent shape, and a lace edging. Gauge is not critical. Approx. finished dimensions using yarn and needles suggested: length 60”, width 7”(ends) to 10” (middle).

3/20/2018: Pattern updated so it is now a single PDF with both chart and written instructions. Also includes stitch counts for the lace section and the chart has been updated with more standard symbols and more “no stitch” squares.

I added more no stitch squares so it is easier to see how stitches are supposed to line up. It’s not totally exact but might give you a better idea of where you went wrong if it’s not working out.

Low Vision Accessibility: This pattern is available in a low vision accessible format as a separate PDF with the pattern file name in ALL CAPS LVA. It is written in 24 point Arial font in all black text on a white background. All text is left-justified and has no italics. All of the directions are fully written out. This pattern is also screen reader accessible and has been reviewed and tested to work with a screen reader. It does not contain any parentheses.
