Arc of the Hypotenuse Scarf
Pattern is both charted and written using American English terms and abbreviations - glossary provided.
US and Metric measurements.
Beginner skill level - knit, purl, slip only.
Very versatile - fully reversible, with a unique shape.
Play with gauge.. Looks great with DK on US 6 (4mm) or with super duper bulky on US 35 (19 mm).
Graphic stitch patterning of alternating - 2 row /5 st ‘bars of knits then purls moving zigzag fashion across a base background of K1 P1 ribbing. The movement of the bars across causes a slight scalloping at the lengthwise edges, which I have accentuated with a ‘hard’ or ‘shaping’ block finish.

It was knit tightly on US 13 needles
Gauge
Gauge not critical but will affect size and yardage.
Sample gauge: 5.5” wide after blocking.
You may also choose to use use any weight of yarn and compatible needle, they all look good… try a long skinny one with DK on US 6 (4mm) needles; or an extra wide, super duper bulky one on US 35 (19 mm) needles. Plan for yardage differences accordingly.
