With only a few busy weeks left before Christmas I wanted to share with you a simple pattern, that will help you take a couple hours to unwind and create a beautiful rustic Christmas stocking. Well, that and also the fact that I needed to make stockings for my three little ones really fast. Each one of the three stockings works up fast, and leaves you plenty of time to decide on how you want to decorate it. Choose one of my ideas or let your imagination run wild! It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!!

Skill level: beginner to intermediate
Finished dimensions: about 8.5 inches (21 cm) tall.
Yarn: worsted weight yarn, about 2.8 oz (80g). I used handspun yarn in 3 different shades.
Needles: 5mm crochet hook US H8, or size needed to obtain gauge
Other materials: tapestry needle, various buttons (optional)
Gauge: 8 st and 6 rows = 2” (hdc ch st)
