‘Archie’ Owl Bird Mug Cup Cosy (DK) Knitting Pattern!

Knit this sweet little Owl mug warmer. You will learn how to knit the scalloped edges of this cute owl. You can knit his body in Green or Brown. This pattern would be ideal to knit for a teenager or a small gift. It will be sure to raise a smile. These fun little mug warmers are popular as little gifts from Knitter’s to their loved ones. Finished item measures
To fit mug size: 25cm Circumference, 11cm Height.
Size of item laid flat made up excluding the button loop: 20cm Length, 9.5cm width.
Owl motif: 13cm Width, 10cm Length including the eyes. Also contains instructions for how to easily adjust this size to suit your mug size.

Equipment needed
3.25mm needles.
Round end small tapestry needle.
1 x 14mm Chocolate Brown Button (to fasten the cosy to a mug).
(A) 2 x 11mm Dark Green buttons (for the pupils of the eyes).
(B) 2 x 18mm White buttons (for the white’s of the eyes).
(C) 2 x 30mm Dark Brown buttons (for the outside’s of the eyes).
Brown fine sewing thread (to sew the buttons on with).
Sewing needle for use with the fine sewing thread.

Suggested yarn
(A) 1 x 100g/216m ball - King Cole Smooth DK. DK / 8ply weight. Shade 884 Moss Green.
(B) 1 x 100g / 230m ball - King Cole Bamboo Cotton DK. DK / 8ply weight. Shade 541 Milk Chocolate.
(C) 1 x 50g / 112m ball - King Cole Merino Blend DK. DK / 8ply weight. Shade 786 Ginger.

Cast-on/Cast-off, Knit, Purl, Knit in to front and back of stitch to make a stitch, Purl, Purl two Stitches Together, Knit two stitches together, Slip one st k-wise, Knit one stitch, Pass slipped st over st just knitted, Yarn round needle to make a Stitch.
