Knit from the top down with two circular needles or a set of 4 double pointed needles, all three versions of the Archimedes hat feature a spiral on the crown as homage to the renown scientist and mathematician by the same name.

Choose from the original feminine lace beret version or the unisex ribbed version which can be blocked for a beret, or unblocked as a fun stocking cap that is perfect for children or those who are children at heart. All three versions are included. Plus, use the suggested modifications for the crown and band to make the pattern new each time you knit it!

This pattern is recommended for adventurous beginning knitters who have prior experience knitting in the round. You should know how to knit in the round, purl, ssk, p2tog, yo, and i-cord. The pattern is written for 2 circulars or a set of 4 DPNs.

This seven page pattern includes all three versions of the pattern and eight full color photos.
