Archipelago a Gansey inspired long sleeved textured stitch sweater and hat pattern for 18” dolls. The sweater also features back-buttoned closure for easy dressing, and the matching watch cap hat features a turned up ribbed stitch brim that offers three styles of wearing; from traditional cap with turned up brim, (shown in cream), or turn down the back ribbed brim only for a rain style hat, (shown in blue), to a trendy slouchy hat, where the ribbed brim is turned down, (shown in red)

Archipelago ~ was inspired by both my love of the recognizable and traditional Gansey stitch patterns and west coast living.

A perfect addition to your doll’s winter wardrobe, and for exploring the great outdoors, providing extra warmth whether living on an island, along the coast, in the mountains, or for simply snuggling up in by a cozy warm fire.

Pattern Features:
The textured stitch patterns have been written out with line-by-line instructions given, including full instructions for working the Lateral Braid featured at the deep ribbed welt of the sweater. A rolled crew neckline created from picked up stitches, along with classic single ribbing worked on the welt, sleeve edges and cuff of hat.

Designer’s Note:
Worked flat: back and forth in rows ~ my preferred knitting technique using my bamboo straights

Designed to fit:
18” American Girl Dolls and the Comparable 18” Gotz Dolls like my models.

Construction: Worked from the bottom up in one piece to armholes, including button bands, then each section is worked individually.

Skill Level:
Advance Beginner-Easy: Project using basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, simple color changes, and simple shaping and finishing.
