Looking for a stylish cowl with loads of texture and a handsome shape? The Architexture Cowl will entertain you with a medley of classic, beginner-friendly stitch patterns. It flies off the needles in aran or bulky-weight yarn, and its tapered silhouette helps to keep the cold air out. Just fold the top of the cowl down inside for structure and a double layer of warmth.

This cowl will be perfect for all of the knit-worthy adults and teens in your life … but make sure that you knit one for yourself, too!

Construction

The Architexture Cowl is knitted in the round from the bottom up. Decreases at the center front create a tapered bandana shape.

Blocked Measurements:

Circumference at top edge: 18”/45.5 cm
Circumference at bottom edge: 36”/91.5 cm
Height in front: 17”/43 cm
Height in back: 12”/30.5 cm

Gauge:

15 stitches and 21 rows = 4”/10 cm square in stockinette stitch on US 9/5.5 mm needles, blocked
Yardage requirements and finished measurements will vary if your gauge differs.

Materials:

• Approximately 255 yds/233 m aran- or bulky-weight yarn in a colorway that is solid or close to solid; shown in Madelinetosh TML Triple Twist in the Cousteau colorway (130 yds/119 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein)
• US 9/5.5 mm circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge), 24”/60 cm and 16”/40 cm in length
• US 8/5 mm circular needles (or one size smaller than size needed to obtain gauge), 24”/60 cm in length
• 4 stitch markers, including 1 in a contrast color
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• Pins for blocking
