Arda Mittens
The Arda Mittens come in five sizes and use tapestry crochet to create a fun repeating pattern that looks great in any colours that take your fancy.
The total lengths of the mittens, from the bottom of the cuff to the tip of the hand, for five sizes are:
XS - 14.5 cm
S - 19 cm
M - 21 cm
L - 24 cm
XL - 27 cm
This is when made with a 4 ply yarn and a 3 mm hook.
Switching to an acrylic DK yarn (I used Scheepjes Colour Crafter) with the same hook, for example, increased the size by around 15%.
The pattern includes full written instructions and comprehensive pattern notes for making the mittens.
It also includes links to these video tutorials about techniques used in the mittens:

There are two pdf files for the pattern. One is with UK crochet terms and the other is with US crochet terms.
The mittens used the following yarn:
Hobbii Friends Extra Fine Merino (4 ply; 165m / 50g ball; 100% wool)
MC: 1 ball (all sizes)
CC: 1 ball (all sizes)
You could substitute for other 4-ply yarns, or go up to a DK yarn (which would increase the size of the mittens, as described above).
Hook: 3 mm
Crochet level: intermediate.
