El Cojín Arena está inspirado en la arena del mar. Pero no en la de la orilla, sino en la arena de la duna de la playa donde vivía. Una arena fina que no era tocada por el mar sino por el aire y que tomaba esa forma ondulante que representé con estas ondas en el cojín.

El cojín representa para mí esos paseos por la playa, la tranquilidad que me daba y la sensación que sentía al caminar por la duna. Las borlas son el viento que te hacía sentir más fuerte el olor a mar.

Está hecho usando la técnica de Live Loop Crochet para hacer los cables.
Si nunca has tejido usando esta técnica te aconsejo practicar un poco antes.*

Hilado
Para este diseño he utilizado la calidad Klassik de JES Collection. De la cual 1 ovillo tiene  50 g / 115 m aproximadamente. Este hilado es de un calibre DK (12 WPI) y composición 100% Algodón. Color: Beige.

Recomiendo usar este hilado u otro que tenga el mismo calibre y una composición muy parecida. No aconsejo usar hilados que sean de colores muy oscuros o matizados porque no se vería bien el motivo del centro. Tampoco aconsejo usar hilados que sean muy resbaladizos ni hilados en los que se separen las hebras con facilidad porque sería más difícil hacer la técnica del Live Loop.

Cantidad de hilado utilizado

Para este diseño he usado: 200 g / 460 m aproximadamente.

Herramientas

-Aguja de Crochet: 3.5 mm (o necesaria para conseguir la tensión recomendada)
-9 Marcadores de punto (imprescindibles para hacer los cables que forman las ondas)
-3 botones de 2 cm de diámetro
-Tijeras
-Aguja Lanera
-Relleno para cojín (puede ser un relleno estándar de 30 x 50 cm)

Notas de Construcción
-El cojín está compuesto por dos rectángulos que se tejen por separado y luego se unen.
-Se teje en Hileras, de ida y vuelta.
-El patrón está dividido en 2 secciones: delantero y trasero
-Al finalizar la parte delantera y la trasera del cojín se unen cosiéndolo con una aguja lanera por los costados y el fondo o parte más baja del cojín.
-Se introduce luego el relleno. Puedes usar un cojín que ya no usas o simplemente ponerle cualquier relleno del que dispongas. Y ya estaría listo para usar.

Medidas finales
42 cm (16.5 in) de ancho x 26,5 cm (10.8 in) de altura.

The Arena Pillow is inspired by the sand of the sea. Not the sand of the shore, but the sand of the dune on the beach where I used to live. A fine sand that was not touched by the sea but by the air and that took that wavy shape that I represented with these waves on the cushion.

The pillow represents for me those walks on the beach, the tranquility it gave me and the sensation I felt when walking along the dune.

It is made using the Live Loop Crochet technique to make the cables.
If you have never used this technique before I advise you to practice a little bit before.

Yarn
For this pattern I used Klassik from JES Collection Yarns. Of which 1 skein has 50 g / 115 m approximately. This is a DK yarn (12 WPI) and has a 100% cotton composition. Color: Beige.

I recommend using this yarn or another yarn with the same weight and very similar composition. I do not recommend using yarns that are of very dark or shaded colors because the motif in the center would not show well. I also do not advise using yarns that are too slippery because it would be more difficult to do the Live Loop technique.

For this design I used: 200 g / 460 m approximately.

Notions

-Crochet hook: 3.5 mm (or necessary to achieve the recommended gauge).
-9 Stitch markers (essential to make the cables that form the waves)
-3 buttons of 2 cm diameter
-Scissors
-tapestry needle
-Pillow stuffing (can be a standard 30 x 50 cm stuffing).

Construction Notes
-The pillow is made of two rectangles that are worked separately and then joined together.
-It is worked in rows.
-The pattern is divided into 2 sections: front and back.
-At the end, the front and back of the pillow are sewn together with a tapestry needle along the sides and the bottom or lowest part of the pillow.
-The stuffing is then inserted. You can use a pillow that you no longer use or simply put any stuffing you have. And it would be ready to use.

Final measurements
42 cm (16.5 in) wide x 26.5 cm (10.8 in) high.
