Arete 2.1 is a variation of Arete II—it’s knit with slightly different dimensions, my sample uses handspun, and the decreases are different—but all of that works out to make a near-identical long, thin triangle shape after blocking.

This little scarf is shaped as a long, shallow triangle with tapered ends. The combination of lightweight yarn, flexible ribbing, and the skinny shape makes it easy to wear in changeable weather. It’s also pretty economical to knit,
because it doesn’t take too much yarn.

Choose from three size options to knit this design as a kerchief, mid-, or full-sized scarf.

Gauge:
Gauge is 19 sts and 21 rows over 4”/10cm of lightly blocked 2x2 knit-purl ribbing, worked flat. Please be sure to check your gauge.

Measurements:
As shown, this scarf can be knit in sizes s(m, l), and measures about 54(64, 74)”/1.06(1.42, 1.82)m long and 5(6.5, 8.4)”/12.7(16.5, 21)cm across the widest point. This ribbing is very stretchy and flexible, so measurements will vary a little.
