Pattern for a Argiope Bruennichi Blanket. This pattern comes with both a graph and written directions.

You will need 9 skeins of Green (or background color), 3 skeins of black, 2 skeins of white, 1 skein of yellow, 1 skein of dark red and 1 skein of gray to complete this pattern. I recommend carrying the green (or background color) and black through the entire pattern to keep it even. I recommend only using the other colors where needed (white, yellow, dark red and gray).

This pattern is 150 stitches wide by 188 rows tall

The blanket width should come out a little over 4 feet wide. I don’t have a picture of the size for reference since I did not crochet an example of this pattern.

It is all single stitch crochet. In order to make this blanket you will need to know how to carry yarn (there are great youtube videos that can teach you how to do the Tapestry Crochet Technique. I highly recommend trying a small simple pattern to practice carrying yarn before attempting a larger project. Carrying yarn gets more difficult as you add more colors.

This pattern can be made with the type of yarn of your choice, I recommend using a medium weight yarn.

The letters are for different colors. (A = Green (or background color, B = Black, C = White, D = Yellow, E = Dark Red, F = Gray)
(so the above pattern would have the first row be 150 stitches of color A. 2nd row would have 30 stitches of color A followed by 20 stitches of color B followed by 10 stitches of color A and so on….)
