Ariadne was a Cretan princess in Greek mythology, involved in the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. According to the myth, she helped Theseus to fight the Minotaur and to escape from the labyrinth by giving him a ball of thread (mitos).
LANGUAGE:
English (US terminology)
MATERIALS:
-Cotton yarn in 4 colors
-Thread of black and pink yarn
-Small amount of white and red yarn
-Thinner white yarn
-Crochet hook for the yarn you use (I used a 2,5mm hook and a 2mm hook)
-Stitch marker or a thread of yarn
-Scissors
-Tapestry needle
-Soft toy stuffing
SIZE:
If made with suggested yarn and hook, Ariadne will be approximately 16 cm | 6.30 inches tall.
LEVEL:
Advanced beginner to intermediate
SKILLS NEEDED:
-Basic crochet stitches like chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet. Also, surface slip stitch - instructions are explained in the pattern.
-You should know how to: make a magic ring, work in continuous rounds (spiral), work in joined rounds, work in rows, sc increase and sc (invisible) decrease.
-Basic sewing skills to sew parts together.
