Ariadne is a lace sweater with a traditional Estonian nupp stitch and crochet neck edge.

Level: intermediate / advanced.

Construction:
The body is worked in the round on circular needles from bottom to underarms, then it is divided for the front and back. The shoulders are joined with the mattress stitch. Sleeves are worked in the round from wrist to underarm, then back and forth for the armhole shaping. The sleeves are sewn to the body. The neckline is finished with the crochet edge.

Sizes:
1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7, 8) with finished bust circumference 69 (81, 92, 104) (115, 127, 139, 150) cm / 27.5 (32, 36.5, 41) (45.5, 50, 54.5, 59)”. Intended to be worn with 0-10 cm / 0-4” of negative ease.
The sample is shown in size 2, with 9 cm / 3.5” of negative ease.

Yarn: Drops Lace (70% alpaca, 30% silk; 400 m (437 yds)/50 g (1.8 oz)), colour 3112 Pink, 132 (143, 168, 182) (210, 223, 252, 281) g / 1052 (1142, 1342, 1459) (1680, 1782, 2015, 2250) m / 1151 (1249, 1468, 1595) (1837, 1948, 2204, 2460) yds.

Needles and Hooks:
• 3.5 mm (US size 4) circular needles 60 cm / 24”
• 3.5 mm (US size 4) in your favorite style for knitting in round of small diameter (short circular needles, long circular needles for magic loop or double pointed needles).
• 2.5 mm crochet hook (US size C/2) for neck edge.
Adjust the needle size to obtain gauge.

Notions: 12 (14, 16, 18) (20, 22, 24, 26) removable stitch markers, stitch holder, tapestry needle.

Gauge: 26 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm / 4” using 3.5 mm (US size 4) needles in main pattern, after wet blocking.
