Four identical triangles are knit from the neck to the bottom. The lace pattern of the triangle is presented as a chart. Stitches are picked up along the sides of the triangles, then the triangles are joined with a 3 needle bind off. A schematic is provided to give you a better idea of the construction. A few rows of garter stitch finish the bottom of the shawl. A short stand up garter stitch collar finishes the neck line.

Madelinetosh Sock yarn, which is a lovely yarn, was used for this shawl, but any soft fingering weight yarn could be used. Very little yarn remained from the three skeins. If you have any doubt about your yarn usage, then it would be a good idea to purchase an additional skein.

As with most shawls, gauge is not as important as the hand or drape. The gauge was measured on a plain stockinet swatch. Feel free then to adjust your needle size to achieve your desired hand and drape.
