Instead of the usual border stitches on shawls, the Ariel boasts a hint of a cable on the long sides and is trimmed with an I-cord on the shorter sides. Both edgings are easy to create and the result is amazing and unique! The cable border is complementary to the I-cord border which creates a wavy feminine design.

This beautiful shawl can be customized in length. Instructions are included for varying the length and for applying an I-cord.

U.S. Size 11 36-inch circular needles
Cable needle or use a dpn
Two dpns U.S. Size 11 for creating I-cord edge (optional)
Approximately 900 yards of #5 bulky weight yarn
Instructions provide amount of yarn needed for every 9 inches in length
