What? Arlecchino, a long scarf with fringe with diamond shapes and contrasting colours, named after the famous character in the Commedia dell’arte. This is my entry in the 15th Creative Challenge of Francrochet, with the theme of ‘Behind the Masks’.
WHAT MAKE Arlecchino DIFFERENT? I fell in love with cro-hooking. If anyone follows me on Facebook and Instagram, they will attest. I hope it will make a comeback. In the meantime, there aren’t that many patterns for cro-hooking except for the traditional squares. So I am exploring what can be done with this wonderful technique that is part of the Tunisian crochet family.
What you need: Approximately 1150 yds of DK weight yarn separated into 2 colours (CA-492 yds, CB-656 yds) and a 4.5 mm cro-hook (Tunisian crochet double-ended hook).

This version was made with Knitca Delight (100% merino wool), 3 skeins of Burgundy, and 4 skeins of Golden Rod. It measures approximately 90” long before the fringe.

Qu’est-ce que c’est? Arlecchino, une longue écharpe à franges et losanges aux couleurs contrastées, du nom du célèbre personnage de la Commedia dell’arte. C’est mon entrée dans le 15e Défi Créatif de Francrochet, avec le thème «Derrière les masques».
QU’EST-CE QUI REND Arlecchino SI DIFFÉRENT? Je suis tombé en amour de cette technique de crochet tunisien qui s’appelle le ‘cro-hook’. Si quelqu’un me suit sur Facebook et Instagram, il en attestera. J’espère que cette technique fera un retour. En attendant, il n’existe pas beaucoup de patrons à l’exception des carrés traditionnels. J’explore donc ce qui peut être fait avec cette merveilleuse technique.
Vous aurez besoin: Approximativement 1150 m de laine de poids DK séparée en 2 couleurs (CA-450 m, CB-600 m) et un crochet Tunisien à deux bouts de 4.5 mm.

Cette version a été réalisée avec Knitca Delight (100% laine mérino), 3 écheveaux de Bourgogne et 4 écheveaux de Golden Rod. Il mesure approximativment 2.28 m avant la frange.
