The inspiration for this cowl was drawn from the arlecchino, or harlequin, costume and was designed to match the Arlecchino Diamond hat.

Materials:
• One 4mm / US size 6 circular needle, 60cm / 23” in length, or size used to obtain gauge.
• Two cable needles.
• One removable stitch marker to mark the beginning of round.
• Tapestry needle for sewing in threads.
• Blocking materials.
• Worsted weight yarn, approximately 171m (190m, 270m, 320m) / 187yds (208yds, 295yds, 350yds). The sample is knitted in Malabrigo Rios - 100% merino wool, 192m / 210yds per 100g, and is shown in colourway Living Coral.

Gauge:
22 stitches and 33 rounds = 10cm / 4” in cable knitting, knitted in the round, and blocked. While gauge is not crucial for this project, knitting to gauge will ensure that your knitted item is the stated size, and that yardage requirements are similar to those stated in the pattern.

Size:
Four sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4), with two circumference and two height options. Sizes 1 and 2 are the short version of the cowl, while sizes 3 and 4 are the tall version, at the smaller and larger circumference, respectively. The sizes measure 57cm (65cm, 57cm, 65cm) / 22.5” (25.5”, 22.5”, 25.5”) in circumference and 21cm (21cm, 39cm, 39cm) / 8.5” (8.5”, 15.5”, 15.5”) in height. Sample shown in size 1.
