Any DK weight yarn may be used, as long as you get the gauge indicated (tighter than normal gauge, since it’s for socks.) I used less than 1 skein of Mountain Colors Weaver’s Wool to make my very first pair of socks using this pattern (later felted by my helpful DH.)
