Introductory offer: On the first weekend of publishing (11th/12th of January 2025) you can purchase Arms of the Angel at a discount of 20% - no coupon code required.

Arms of the Angel is originally designed for Dibadu Funnies Tiny Merino. I used 4 skeins of 440y/400m - 3.5oz/100g of Tiny Merino (2x Minzessin, 1x Schwefelflechte, 1x Strandhafer) to create a shawl with a wingspan of 86.5“/220cm and a depth of 19.25“/49cm. Of course, you can also use other yarns. I would recommend at least two different contrasting colors or gradient yarns, but you can just as well use 3 - 6 different colors. I knitted a second version with Schoppel Lace Ball Herbstzeitlosen combined with Liminosa. I knitted with two strands and make sure that both pairs start at the same point in the color gradient. The shawl measures the same as the one knitted with Dibadu Tiny Merino.

Although Arms of the Angel is a modular knit but there is no seaming involved as you will join the modules as you go. This pattern includes short rows. You will find photo tutorials on this technique as well as the joining methods. If you prefer other short row methods, they can be used as well.

All instructions are given in written and charted form along with graphics to explain the setup. But if you have any questions or feel like you struggle, send me a personal note on Ravelry or an email and I’ll be happy to help you along the way.

You can also join the Funnies Knitters group that Barbara has created for the Dibadu lovers. She was kind enough to devote one thread to Ursa Major Knits designs. So you can ask your questions there as well. We might even do KALs at some point. You are welcome to join us.
