Arothron
“Arothron” is a simple dropped stitch cowl, knit flat to desired length then grafted using kitchener. It is so named because Arothron is a genus of the pufferfish family and the dropped stitches form puffs on the back, making this cowl very squooshy, warm, and reversible! It can be worn single length, looped about the neck, or even pulled up like a hood.
Note on Gauge/Blocking: The stitch pattern is incredibly stretchy horizontally, but not very stretchy vertically. However, soaking it will cause the dropped strands to lengthen, so choose a fiber that will bounce back. Gauge is listed, but really it is dependent on how tightly or loosely you knit, and the finished width/length will vary depending on how aggressively you block.
