Arran Sweater Pattern
This pattern is
available from patterns.on-arran.com
for $9.99.
The Arran Sweater combines cables and other patterns worn by Arran fishermen who “followed the herring” off the coast of Britain in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The designs represent the sea, the mountains and the “many stags” of Arran. The accompanying history sheet tells you more.
Instructions are given for knitting a smaller or larger version of the sweater.
The wool for our sweater is from the New Lanark World Heritage Centre in Scotland. The link is available on the pattern page of our website http://patterns.on-arran.com/page/Knitting+Patterns
