I designed Arrows & Flights with the Jimmy Beans Wool Madelinetosh Toshstrology Exclusive for April 2016 “Taurus”. I don’t normally like making scarves or wraps, mainly due to the fact that, unlike shawls, it is somewhat difficult to hide the fact that there is a right and wrong side, and plain garter stitch isn’t challenging for me. With its chevron and fading eyelet design echoing the imagery of an archer’s arrow, this wrap is modern, stylish, and appealing all year round.

ERRATA: Section One should read:

Repeat rows 1 – 2 twelve times.

Row 1: K4, (m1l, k4, (k2tog, yo) x 4, k3tog, (yo, ssk) x 4, k4, m1r, k1) x 2, m1l, k4, (k2tog, yo) x 4, k3tog, (yo, ssk) x 4, k4, m1r, k4.

Row 2: K all sts. **

MATERIALS:
Two skeins of Madelinetosh Twist Light (75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon. 420 yards.) Colorway shown: Jimmy Beans Wool Exclusive – April ’16 – Taurus.
US 4 24” circ needle
Tapestry needle
About 80” long and 14 ½” wide

GAUGE AND MEASUREMENTS:
9 sts x 16 rows in garter stitch after blocking.
(Gauge not critical for project.)

PATTERN NOTES: Read the pattern before casting on to familiarize yourself with the pattern, as sections will repeat. The pattern uses about 620 yards of fingering weight yarn, so two “traditional” length skeins of yarn (380 – 430 yards per hank) will be plenty. Although not written, you may choose to use stitch markers around the chevron increases to keep track of your work.
