Art Deco Tiles Overlay Mosaic Throw
The Art Deco Tiles pattern is an overlay mosaic crochet design that resembles tiles laid on top of each other. It is a geometric design with a pattern repeat of 20 sts x 20 rows.
Art Deco Tiles can be worked in any size, length and width. You could make a wrap, as described in the instructions, a square bed throw, or a rectangular afghan.
A link to a possible envelope border to hide away the yarn ends is included (with thanks to and permission from) Tinna Porudottir Porvaldar; a free video is in preparation to show how I did mine.
I used Lincraft Makr Cotton 8-ply for the blue and cream wrap as well as the light blue swatch and DROPS Paris for the red swatch, but you can choose any yarn you like for this project.
You will need the same amount of yarn in each colour for the pattern repeat and extra colour for the border, if you choose to make one.
Size for one pattern repeat made in:
- Lincraft Makre Cotton 8ply (DK): 10cm x 10cm / 4” x 4” with a 3.5mm / US 4-E hook.
- DROPS Paris (Aran): 12.5cm x 12.5cm / 5” x 5” with a 4.5mm / US G/H-7 hook.
