This curtain was inspired by an Art Nouveau wallpaper design that I fell in love with and I charted the design. My project photos show it unblocked. Blocking will elongate the design and make it lacier.

The filet I am doing uses treble crochet and 4 stitches to the block. Solid blocks are 4 treble crochet and open blocks are trebble, chain 2, treble. That gave me, with size 50 thread and a 1.1 mm hook, the laciness I was after.

This pattern is not written up but I am offering the chart. (Thanks to taith for the improved basic pattern chart.) Please see the downloadable pdf for the sides and the bottom border.

There are many sources for instruction on the basics of filet crochet, which is VERY easy.

I am working from the top down and repeating the design vertically 4 times before working the scalloped edge.

I am working from the left side (edge) to the right, then from the right side back to the red repeat line, then from the red repeat line back to the right edge and then from the right edge back all the way to the left side.

The size of your window and the gauge you choose will determine the number of times you repeat the section between the red line and the right side.

(The numbers along the edge of the chart are meaningless.)
