This is a pretty blanket worked in a style similar to mosaic interlocking crochet, but with a difference – the technique I use produces a blanket with the back being a mirror image of the front, with the colours reversed like a photo negative.

The blanket is double-sided and double-thickness. The pattern features Art Nouveau stylized flourishes and flowers. A graph is included if you prefer to work directly from it, but I have also written the crochet instructions row by row to make it easier to crochet this blanket.

I would consider this pattern suitable for those who are more advanced in crocheting, it involves a lot of work and counting to get stitch placements correct.

The pattern is made using a 3.50mm (size E, No. 9) crochet hook and sport weight yarn, two different colours, I used Hobbii 8/6 Rainbow Cotton, but you could also use a cake sport weight yarn such as Cotton Kings Sultan (this will result in a lighter blanket, with less yarn required)
Colour 1 (C1) – 1224g (43 ounces) or 2571 metres (2816 yards)
Colour 2 (C2) – 1216g (43 ounces) or 2554 metres (2797 yards)

The finished blanket measures 132cm wide x 119cm high (52 inches x 47 inches)

Please Note - instructions are not provided for the traditional mosaic crochet - the written instructions are only for the mirror mosaic method developed by me!
