Art Nouveau Rose Socks
About The Design:
The inspiration for the Art Nouveau Rose Socks came from a motif in a book of circa 1900 corner and border designs, that were used by printers.
The rose motif accentuates the heel flap, making the socks ideal for wearing with clogs.
I used a diced pattern as the background for the heel motif, but you may just use a solid colored ground, like the olive, for a less cluttered look.
This heel motif may be knit in or duplicate stitched later, your choice. You may also leave the rose off the heel flap, as in the Winter Roses above.
I knit the 4 colorways in SandnesGarn’s Peer Gynt, a great DK wt. Norwegian wool yarn.
