Artemisia Shawl
“Artemisia” is a triangular symmetrical shawl knitted from the center outwards. It is designed in two colors for a fingering weight gauge.
This shawl is available in 3 different sizes, so that you can knit your “Artemisia” shawl to your preferred size.
The pattern provides fully charted and written instructions. Additionally, I included some tips and tricks how I work with unspun yarn single stranded.
The main body of the “Artemisia” shawl is created out of knits, purls, 3-st cables and by playing with increases and decreases. After a transitional section, the second color is introduced to form a simple stripy eyelet border for the playful floral-inspired lace motif. The contrasting picot edge adds a final touch to this botanically inspired shawl.
“Artemisia” is designed to use Nutiden unspun held single. Using this rather fragile yarn is supposed to support your experience of a soothing and intentional knitting process. But you could also add a strand of lace silk-mohair for more stability or use any fingering weight yarn in case you want to substitute.
I named the pattern “Artemisia” because I personally found the knitting process very healing for dealing with some intense experiences during this time. The artemisia plant as a universal healing plant is a perfect symbolic representation for me.

MATERIALS
Yarn: Honer Och Eir Nutiden (held single)
Color 1: 100 (160) 220 g
Color 2: 60 (80) 100 g
For the large sample I used 165g of the colorway “Gunst” for C1 and 64g of the colorway “Robust” for C2 .
For the small sample I used 63g of the colorway “Knytt” for C1 and 40g of the colorway “Glimt” for C2.
-->The recommended amounts include yarn for swatching and a buffer.
--> In case you like to use Nutiden, but find one strand on its own too fragile, consider holding it together with a strand of lace silk-mohair. I recommend using larger needles and knit size S or M.
--> For yarn substitution, any fingering weight yarn should work.
Based on the yarn amounts of my testknitters, you will approximately need
Color 1: 360 (500) 750 metres / 393 (548) 820 yards
Color 2: 250 (300) 360 metres / 273 (328) 393 yards
