This is a very easy ribbed cowl that creates a cable-like effect without actually working any cables. It’s just knits and purls and occasional k2togs to decrease from shoulder to neck. The cast on and bind off need to be elastic, so the pattern recommends the Norwegian old-style cast on and the Icelandic cast off method. But that’s the only part of the design that requires special attention.

The recommended yarn creates an interesting plaid-like effect (this isn’t shown in the Baah La Jolla pictures since that yarn has shorter color changes).
