Oversized Cardigan with a Colourful Statement Dot Pattern, a Deep V-neck and a Double Knitted Button Band in Sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL.

Structure:
The cardigan is worked top down: First, the back part is worked back and forth in rows. Then, stitches are picked up along the cast-on-row of the back part and the front parts are worked separately with additional increases to shape the V-neck of the cardigan. As soon as the armholes are deep enough, all parts are joined and the body is finished in stockinette stitch and in dot pattern in rows. A hem in 2x2 ribbing is then attached to the body of the cardigan. Afterwards, stitches for the sleeves are picked up along the armholes. Then, the sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch and in dot pattern in the round, until they are finished with cuffs in 2x2 ribbing. Last, but not least, stitches are picked up along the front parts and the neckline to work the button band in double knitting – and buttons are sewn to the button band to close the cardigan.
The whole body and sleeves are covered with statement polka dots in a contrasting colour. To emphasize the dots, they are worked with 3 strands of Brushed Alpaca held together, while the main colour of body and sleeves is worked with 1 strand of Merino and 1 strand of Brushed Alpaca held together. This combination creates a lovely, interesting structure and texture for the cardigan. The length is relatively short, the fit is boxy for a modern look and the sleeves are relatively tight. If you prefer wider sleeves, you are welcome to stick to the instructions of the next larger size, but please note, that you then might need more yarn than indicated in the pattern.
