This crescent shaped shawl was inspired by a story about finding arrowheads. My dad told it to me when I was a child. Slipped stitches are used to create the colorwork patterns in which only one color is worked at a time. This long shawl drapes well and can be worn in many ways.

I was honored to work with Four Corners Fiber Collective for this design. This yarn is a blend of Navajo Churro and Merino wool which comes from local flocks in the Southwest. The Navajo Churro was an important part of the Navajo culture for many years, but at one point they were almost extinct. I deeply appreciate the shepherds who are working to preserve this breed, and the work that Four Corners Fiber Collective is doing to promote Native shepherds, spinners, weavers, and artisans.

23 sts and 26 rows = 4” x 2 1/4” (10 cm x 5.5 cm) in Mosaic patttern.
