Aruncus
When I saw this yarn in my mum’s stash it immediately reminded me of the frothiness of aruncus flowers. The rows of eyelets in this delicate lace stole echo the structure of aruncus and create gently scalloped edges. Beads are optional but add a nice touch of sparkle, and the pattern is both charted and written.
Tension is not important for this, just choose a needle size that gives you a finish you like with your chosen yarn: although designed for this specific yarn it will work with anything up to a 4ply weight, simply adjust your needles accordingly and remember that you will need more than the stated yardage. To make a 1ply stole 100cm x 25cm after blocking, you will need approximately 150 yards/137m of yarn, but the 16 row pattern can be repeated as many times as you like to make a longer or shorter scarf. If you use beads you will need 16 per pattern repeat. (You can see in the pictures that I used 2 colours of beads, 8 of each per repeat, but skipped adding beads on every third repeat).
