From the pattern description: “As A Flower Blossoms (I Am Running To You)” is a song from Pat Metheny’s 1992 album, Secret Story. It is short (total running time 1:53), but lovely and romantic.

The As a Flower Blossoms set is composed of a skinny, garter stitch scarf with a couple lacy petals at each end, and a pair of cuffs that start with a lacy rib, then bloom into petals echoing the pattern of the scarf.

The set knits up quickly, so in no time at all you can turn 400 yards of fingering weight yarn into these lovely, romantic accessories.

From the designer: The skills needed to make this pattern include simple increases and decreases, knitting in the round, short row shaping, and provisional cast-on. The pattern includes instructions for short row shaping and provisional cast-on, and links for tutorials on short row shaping and Old Norwegian cast-on. It also has both charts and written instructions for the lace petals.

The scarf is long enough to be tied a variety of ways, and short enough to be left loose, and the cuffs stretch to fit 6-8½” wrists.
