It’s all in the name, and in this case, the name says it all: As Easy as Pi Shawl. First, this pattern is based on mathematics; second, it is as easy as pie! Carefully choosing an appropriate yarn, in the case of the sample, an ombre, will add to the look of the finished shawl. So, enjoy this fun and simple pattern.

The concept of a PI Shawl is simple: as you double the rows, you double your stitches, and what you do in those in-between rows is up to you. This pattern begins with a 5-stitch garter tab, which allows for a garter edge throughout the shawl. Once these “set-up” rows are complete, the fun begins with three bands, each consisting of a simple garter stitch section followed by a simple fretwork section.
