The Asa-no-ha is one of the most popular traditional Japanese patterns. It can often be seen on the Japanese kimono.
Asa-no-ha means: Asa = hemp: no = of: ha = leaf. The geometric abstract pattern represents overlapping hemp leaves.
This is my crochet version for it.
Pattern: Written pattern and a detailed photo tutorial for the Asanoha hexagon, half hexagon and joining.
Written in standard US terms.

All used abbreviations and techniques are listed and explained in the pattern.
Techniques: Overlay crochet and a bit of tapestry crochet.
