Asher Handwarmers
Keep your hands toasty with the Asher Handwarmers.
These handwarmers are a really fun and quick project, perfect for last-minute gifts and using up leftover DK yarn.
They are also a great opportunity to explore new colour combinations and try out a new technique.
The Asher Handwarmers use tapestry crochet with extended single crochet (extended double crochet in UK terms) stitches to create a simple but attractive colourwork pattern.
Whether you’re an experienced crocheter or a beginner looking looking to develop your skills, this pattern is designed to be enjoyed by crocheters of all levels. It contains full written instructions, including detailed pattern notes, as well as links to these video tutorials about some of the techniques used:

The handwarmers measure (unstretched) 18 cm long and have a circumference of 18 cm. This fits an adult female hand.
However, the pattern includes instructions to vary this to any size you like.
The handwarmers can be made with any DK yarn such as Scheepjes Scrumptious, Scheepjes Colour Crafter, Stylecraft Special DK, Stylecraft Life DK, Paintbox Simply DK, etc.
You need less than a ball of the main colour and only small amounts of the contrasting colours. You can use any number of contrasting colours from 2-6, or even just one contrasting colour for a slightly simpler pattern.
