Alpaca fiber is known for its amazing softness. Knitting or crocheting with alpaca is a pleasure, and it is perfect for the TLC required by babies. Alpaca is NOT machine-washable and so we designed a hat which is easy to handwash and will likely not be in need of washing often.

The alpaca yarn we used was milled in Ashland, Maine, at a small fiber mill.
