Ashlee's Snowflake 40
This is an oversized afghan square but could also be used as a pillow or a bag or anything else you can come up with! This square was originally drawn for interlocking crochet. The original mosaic version used the interlocking chart (with mesh dots all over). An updated adjusted chart was later created for a solid mosaic crochet option. And you can also start from the center for a no-cut-ends mosaic crochet square!
As always, my patterns include the full written line-by-line pattern and charts for multiple techniques.
You will receive four files
One file for:
- the LFM / interlocking pattern
- a one-page chart (81 x81)
One file for:
- the ORIGINAL mosaic pattern
- an X-marked chart (81 x 81 - exactly the same as the interlocking chart)
One file for:
- the ADJUSTED mosaic pattern
- an X-marked chart (77 x 77 - mesh dots and extra border lines have been removed from the original interlocking chart)
One file for:
- the CENTER-OUT mosaic pattern
- an X-marked chart (using the adjusted 77 x 77 solid version)
The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.
Mosaic crochet is single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting). See an example here.
